Reverse Diet 2 - Week 12: Mini FAQ

I seriously cannot believe how much food I eat every day while maintaining my weight. It's CRAZY AWESOME. This week I'm adding protein instead of carbs as my weight starts to go slightly above 120.

Also, I want to clear a few things up in this post. I've gotten some questions recently about why I started this reverse at such low calories. VERY good question and it deserves an explanation. If you go back in my posts, you'll see that I was cutting for a few months before summer and didn't count macros while I was on vacation in Japan. I lost about 10 pounds in 3 months and decided to reverse again.

I definitely would have low-balled my starting macros for this reverse, had I been trying to start at maintenance. BUT I'm NOT saying I started this reverse at my maintenance intake. I thought it was a better choice to go slightly lower rather than taking the chance of guessing too high. I know myself and how my crazy head would get if I were to do something like that. So for sure, I was still cutting when I was eating 1200 calories (which, by the way was only ONE week so don't poop your pants). As you can see from the data, however, my weight increased after that first week. So I do actually think that was close to my maintenance. It is what it is; I did what I did.. and it worked out just fine for me. I hope that answers those types of questions, and please let me know if you have more! :)

I will always keep it real up in here my friends. I'm just a girl with a passion to help other people who struggle with a crappy metabolism like I once did. I'm not a doctor, I'm not a nutritionist, I'm not a professional coach or athlete, and I don't have all the answers. In fact, I bet I'm wrong a LOT. Only God knows all the details of how the human body works and I am totally cool with that. God is so awesome -- the complex and creative ways he made us completely fascinates me!

Hey, Cait. Do you think you could talk a little about your gym routine? I just started lifting myself and would love to get some insight on what you do and your progress :) Also, you don't list body fat on your reverse diet stats anymore. Are you still keeping track? and how do you measure yours?

Hey Diana! I'd be glad to post about my gym routine, I actually may do a youtube vid on it. Also, I stopped measuring body fat because I noticed that last time it was really messing with my head. So I decided it would be best to not measure that this time. I will be starting a pretty long cut in a few months, so I may bring it back, we'll see! :) I used an omron handheld one, that sends the electric pulse. It's not very accurate, but kinda gets you in the ballpark.
