BEST Protein Bar Recipe
267kcal - 32P/28C/3F - 19g Fiber!!
This recipe is so amazing because it saves SO much money, it is basically 2 ingredients (super quick and easy), customizable, DELICIOUS, and of course... the best macros ever!!

Ingredients (Base Recipe):
- 25g Vita Fiber IMO Syrup
- 46g Protein Powder (whatever flavor you'd like)
- Stevia to taste (optional)
- Water to consistency

Directions:
1. Heat up 25g Vita Fiber for about 10 seconds until slightly bubbly.
2. Add protein powder and stevia. Stir.
3. Add water to desired consistency. Be VERY careful with this step and just add a TINY bit at a time.. like 1 teaspoon. You don't want this protein bar to get gummy or watery. You want it slightly crumbly. See video for visual of exactly what I mean. If you have any mushy ingredients like mashed banana or pumpkin or something, add that before adding water.
4. Kneed with hands until you form desired shape (bar, cookie, cute little pumpkin... whatever!)
5. Add whatever other ingredients you'd like to this base recipe (oreo, chocolate chips, flavored extracts, etc.)
6. Put in freezer or fridge. You can wrap it in plastic wrap and eat these for weeks, or months if you freeze them.

Here are the 10 different flavors I show in the video:
1. Cake Batter (Base Recipe + Rainbow Sprinkles + Vanilla Extract)
2. Cookies & Cream (Base Recipe + 1 Oreo)
3. Girl Scout Samoa Cookie (Base Recipe + 1 Girl Scout Samoa Cookie/keebler version + coconut extract)
4. Peanut Butter (Base Recipe + 15g Jif Peanut Powder or PB2)
5. Fudge Brownie (Base Recipe + 10g Cocoa Powder)
6. Cookie Dough (Base Recipe + 70g Mini Chocolate Chips)
7. Banana Walnut (Base Recipe + 1/4 Mashed Banana + 5g Walnuts)
8. Snickerdoodle (Base Recipe + Cinnamon to taste)
9. Green Tea (Base Recipe + Green Tea powder to taste)
10. Pumpkin Spice (Base Recipe + 15g unsweetened canned pumpkin + pumpkin pie spice + cinnamon)

Get creative! Have fun! ENJOY! <3

Hi there-- love your blog and Instagram :) So when you say net carbs, how did you calculate that? And are those all you count towards your macros? And side question, do you personally count the carbs veggies (broccoli asparagus and zucchini?) I can't get a straight forward answer on what carbs I actually need to count for my macros. Suggestions?

Thanks and I love following your experiment!

I only put "net carbs" because that's what all the companies like quest bar say to make you believe it has less carbs than other bars. Really, it has a lot of carbs but if you subtract fiber it gives you "net carbs" When counting macros, COUNT ALL THE CARBS. So for these bars that would be 28C. And I do count the carbs in veggies for sure and I think it's important to do so. :) Let me know if you ever have any more questions I'm happy to help!

Do you have a preferred brand of vita fiber? Incredible recipes! Not to mention I've loved following your reverse journey! Very inspiring and keeps me aiming to the light at the end of the [cutting] tunnel!
My tummy (& wallet!!) thank you for this particular recipe!!!

I noticed you used combat powder for your protein? Isn't that a blend of casein and whey? Do you think that makes a difference? Thanks!!

It's late Sunday morning and the decked out in yoga gear crew, the health fanatics, the beer connoisseurs and hungry fathers hanging around the smoked meat section of Whole Foods Fairfax are in full force.

I don't have a food scale. What is the easiest way to figure out cup/ spoon conversions. Txs

Am I missing something? If you put 46 Grams of whey protein in the bar, why is the macro number listed as 32 Grams of protein? This recipe is making one bar, correct? Plus, adding powdered peanuts would add a little more protein. Slap me if I am misunderstanding something.

OK, nevermind. So, the grams is by weight, not grams of protein and if I add powdered peanuts, obviously the number will change. Sorry, brain fart.

Thanks so much for sharing this! I was looking for a way to cut down the number of carbs in the bars I was trying to make so I didn't blow my macros to Timbuktu and this fits perfectly. Great idea making some of them into different objects, I love that!

Super excited to try to make. However I noticed in the video you have a lot of flavored protein powders: cake batter, Cookies and cream, chocolate, peanut butter,… So you didn’t mention the flavored protein powder but I’m sure that makes a difference in the overall results and I’m wondering what about the ones that may be don’t have a flavored protein did you just use vanilla like the snickerdoodle or pumpkin?
